Is Broadway That Good?
and there are several reasons for this............
Firstly the thrill of combining acting and singing, and sometimes dance, in performances has tremendous appeal to many students.
Secondly, Musical theatre or Broadway-based music is dramatic, varied ,fulfilling and just plain fun. You are not just singing a song but actually playing a role.
Thirdly, only with Musical Theatre can students fully explore and develop their talents and, along with dance, become a true 'triple threat'.
As a former student of Trinity College London (UK), I can vouch for their high standards, integrity and innovation. When I discovered a few years ago that Trinity was offering Musical Theatre exam programs at all levels, I jumped at the chance to involve our School and those students who expressed an interest.
Since then Lynda and I have taken many students from Grade 1 all the way through to the advanced Teacher's Diploma beyond grade VIII, and have had outstanding results. In the most recent exam event (June 2014), we were gratified to know that all our students passed with Distinction (85% and above).
About Trinity College London (UK)
Trinity College London is an international exam board that has been providing assessments since 1877. With a rich heritage of academic rigour and a positive, supportive approach to assessment, they provide recognized and respected qualifications in a unique spectrum of communicative skills — from music, drama and arts activities to English language — at all levels.
Each year over 600,000 candidates in over 60 countries take a Trinity assessment and our international network is growing fast. Trinity exams and assessments are designed to help students progress. They inspire learners and mark their achievement at each stage of their development and at all levels of competence.
Their exams focus on assessing skills and how effectively the candidates can apply what they have learnt, not just on knowledge for its own sake. They also encourage candidates to bring their own choices and interests into the exams — this motivates students and makes the assessment more relevant and enjoyable.
Trinity exams are internationally recognised and fully accredited by Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) and other education authorities in many countries around the world.
